Nameplate color bug in pvp (threat)
Description Nameplates Threat color changes to "Good Color" in pvp
Version Number 10.78
Steps to Reproduce
- Activate Nameplates
- Make sure "Use Threat Color" is on
- Enter BG
- Randomly attack enemys, or just run past them, be in combat near enemys etc. This triggers randomly, but very often.
Expected Behavior All enemy nameplates should stay red at all time
Actual Behavior Enemy nameplates turn into Threat "Good Color" randomly in battlegrounds.
Only ElvUI Enabled I turned off all addons exept elvui and elvui config. I still recieve this bug.
Blizzard Issue? Can't reproduce this by turning elvui off.
Additional Information I found a post on the forum, someone who explained the exact issue as I had, but he did not make a correct tech support template I believe, so there was no sollutions.
I will copy paste what that other player type, changing some of the text to match my scenario better, showing my own screenshots, because it explains my exact same issue:
When playing in BGs sometimes the enemy nameplate "Health" color switches to the friendly nameplate "Health" color as seen below in screenshow provided,
The target is of course the one with the white border around the nameplate. As you can see, i have been fighting him as he's an enemy, i have multiple feral DoTs on the player.
But every now and then, they'll switch to green and it's not just my target. I once had 3 enemies in front of me and all 3 nameplate health bars simultaneously turned green. I'm not sure if they switched back or if friendly health bars randomly turn red/enemy color as well or not.
This obviously makes it very hard in BGs to depict who is friend and who is foe half the time.
The majority of enemies the majority of the time have red nameplate health bars - so it can't be any kind of standard nameplate/unitframe color settings.
I am not sure why this happen, but if I would guess, I believe it has something to do with the threath function of the nameplates, and while it is active, something triggers the threath color. When I stealth, on purpose, the color changes back to red. I also did a test, I changed threath color to purple, and then all turned purple instead of green. so now I am 100% sure it is something with the threath color that messes up in pvp. See screenshots below, the last screenshot have purple plates instead.
